Representing the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) at the workshop were Mr. Nguyễn Văn Phú – General Secretary, and Ms. Nguyễn Thanh Hà – Deputy General Secretary and Head of the UEFA/AFC Women’s Football Development Project in Vietnam.

At the workshop, the Vietnamese delegation presented the Vietnam Women’s Football Development Strategy, outlining clear directions and key activities carried out in the first half of 2025. Notably, these included the organization of an AFC/VFF ‘C’ Certificate Coaching Course exclusively for women’s football coaches, held from March 16 to 28 in Ha Nam, and the official launch of the Vietnam Women’s Football Development Strategy in Hanoi on June 6, 2025. The launch event was attended by representatives from FIFA, the AFC, national sports authorities, VFF departments, football clubs, and a wide range of domestic media outlets.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Phú reaffirmed the Vietnam Football Federation’s (VFF) strong commitment to the development of women’s football in Vietnam and expressed his gratitude to UEFA and the AFC for their support throughout the strategic planning process. He also shared VFF’s upcoming plans, including conducting assessments related to the women’s club licensing system, organizing a Women’s Football Festival in a central province in September to promote the sport, and implementing development activities in several southern provinces aimed at fostering and expanding the women’s football movement in those regions.

This workshop focused on several key areas, including: sharing UEFA’s support programs for the five participating federations in developing grassroots and school football for girls; field visits to women’s football clubs in Geneva, Switzerland; exploring standards for building national women’s teams; and assisting federations in establishing long-term development plans for their women’s national teams.

The active participation of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) in the workshop once again demonstrated its strong commitment and clear strategic direction in developing women’s football, aiming for sustainable growth and alignment with regional and international standards.
