It”s been a tough battle getting here for both teams after finishing the month-long round robin against strong contenders in their division.

Nearly 40 teams from the provinces of Hoa Binh, Bac Giang, Hai Duong, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Tay Ninh and An Giang competed for the tournament”s much coveted Yamaha Cup.

“The tournament aims to promote football movements across the country and find young players to represent Viet Nam,” said Vu Quang Vinh, head of the tournament organising committee.

Le Cong Vinh, the 2006 Golden Ball winner said: “I myself grew up playing youth football tournaments. I believe the tournament will germinate talented footballers to eventually play for Viet Nam.”
