VFF leaders meet and encourage Vietnam’s U13 and U16 women’s youth squads ahead of summer break
On the morning of May 29, VFF General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu, on behalf of the VFF leadership, met and encouraged the Vietnam U13 and U16 women’s youth squads currently training on a long-term basis at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center before the players returned to their localities for the summer break.
This long-term training program, implemented by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), aims to identify, nurture and develop young talents for Vietnamese women’s football, with the goal of building a high-quality pipeline of players for clubs and national teams in the future.
Speaking at the meeting, VFF General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the coaching staff and players throughout the training period since the beginning of the year. In addition to their technical progress and positive performances at youth tournaments, the VFF leadership also praised the players’ academic achievements, with 10 players earning the title of excellent students and eight recognized as good students.
General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu emphasized that a good football player needs not only technical ability but also a strong educational foundation and sound thinking. The VFF hopes that the players will continue striving in their studies and remains committed to providing support to help them achieve even better results in the future.
Before the players returned to their localities for the summer break, General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu encouraged them to spend time with their families, care for and support their grandparents and parents, while maintaining regular training to preserve their physical condition.
Regarding professional objectives, the VFF leadership stated that an important target for Vietnam’s women’s youth football in the coming period is the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers, with the aim of competing for a place at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
Representing the coaching staff, coach Okiyama Masahiko encouraged the players to continue improving themselves and maintain their training routines during the summer break so that they can return to camp in September with the highest level of determination and readiness.
Following the summer break, the two teams will resume training under the long-term development program at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, aiming for greater achievements and future opportunities with Vietnam’s national women’s teams.
