Vietnam League- Round 18: GDTLA in comeback victory over HAGL

GDTLA underlined their title credentials in the Vietnam League with a superb 4-3 comeback victory over defending champions HAGL recently.

GDTLA were two goals down at the break but surged back into the match to pocket all the points and consolidate their lead over Binh Duong, who defeated SD. Nam Dinh 4-2. At the other end of the table, D.Dong Thap hurtled towards relegation after a 1-1 draw against HL.Binh Dinh.

HAGL were cruising 3-0 with a brace from Vimon and a good goal by Kiatisuk when GDTLA pulled one back through a Carlos Rodrigues penalty just before half time. Early in the second period, HAGL were reduced to 10 men after goalkeeper Quoc Tuan was redcarded and GDTLA pounced on the opportunity with glee. Substitutes Tostao and Minh Phuong bulged the net with ease, with the latter netting a double, to clinch victory and put GDTLA on 40 points.

Other games saw Da Nang defeat M. Hai Phong 2-0 to keep in touch with the top two teams while LG HN.ACB thrashed SLNA 3-1 to move out of the drop zone. Southern YMN.CSG drew 0-0 with HP. Ha Noi.
